5 reasons why you can't miss Primavera Sound this year

Primavera Sound celebrates 20 years. A festival that’s been held since 2001 has established itself as one of the most important musical events in Europe. This year 211 artists of 35 nationalities bring a panoramic, diverse and gender equal event that looks back, forward and around.

The 2020’s edition of Primavera Sound, which will take place from 3rd to 7th of June, has stolen all the attention since the revelation of its lineup. It includes consolidated bands such as The Strokes and The Jesus and Mary Chain, and also relatively new artists such as Fontaines DC representing a new generation of guitar bands. Here are 5 reasons why you shouldn’t miss Primavera Sound, which is already emerging to be one of the best festivals of 2020:

1.     The lineup

This year Primavera Sound includes artists such as Lana Del Rey, The Strokes, Massive Attack, Iggy Pop, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Metronomy, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The National, Beck, among many others. Primavera Sound is about to provide an experience for all types of audiences. 2.     The experience

Primavera Sound is held at the Parc del Fòrum, located at the northern edge of Barcelona, Spain. The place is right next to the sea, something that makes the event even more attractive. Primavera Sound is also an opportunity to explore one of Europe's most vibrant cities. Don’t miss the shows taking place in downtown before the main event kicks off at Parc del Fòrum. Everyone should experience it at least once in a lifetime. Seriously, you won't be the same after this.

3.     New tunes from The Strokes

The unquestionable rock 'n' roll heroes will be hitting Barcelona. An iconic band from New York City commanded by Julian Casablancas announced new music at their headlining show in Brooklyn few weeks ago. Watching The Strokes live is always a delight, either because of the setlist they put together or their energy. The band announced the album coming in 2020 during their New Year’s Eve gig at Barclays Center:

Yeah, we’ve got a new album coming out soon! Surprise! 2020, here we come. The 2010s, whatever the fuck they’re called, we took them off. And now we’ve been unfrozen and we’re back. If you really love someone, you’ll be frozen with them. You know what? I don’t know what I say generally, and I ramble a lot, but I love you guys, and it’s a real honor to share the stage and this night with you guys.

4.     The gastronomical delight

Pairing music with food takes the whole experience to the next level. Primavera Sound has the best of those two worlds, every year the festival offers a culinary proposal for all types of audience.

5.      A committed festival

In 20 years of experience, Primavera Sound has implemented a multitude of measures. From reusable cups, and recycling to actions designed to avoid gender violence and discrimination, Primavera Sound aims to be one of the most well-organized events. The festival also fights for environmental and cultural commitment in the area. Primavera Sound works with people at risk of social exclusion, so that they can enjoy music at the festival. Also, the restaurants that participate in their gastronomic areas give the leftovers to the Food Bank to avoid food waste.
